FAQ & Our Policy

POLICY

Please read to avoid confusion

 

All custom cake orders for both pickup and delivery below $300, and same-week requests are to be paid in Full amount during order placement.

All custom cake orders over the amount of $300: a 50% deposit is required to proceed with the order.

 

This Bakery has the right to refuse sales to any customer if necessary.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL unless noted below:

Customer cake pick up and after leaving the shop, customers accept all responsibility for transporting any product to their location. We will not give any refunds if there is a mishap during transit, including:

  • The cake sliding off after pick up from the shop-If we need to redo the cake, another design fixing fee will be charged for the work and must be paid prior to having the cake redone.

  • Condensation built up due to temperature change during transport - keep the vehicle temperature cold

  • Falling of props and decoration due to transportation and moving vehicles (handlers must take full responsibility) 

  • Hand marks and breaking of fondant figures happened after pick-up

  • Design and Color change due to transportation/location environment

  • Mishandling of the cake setting after pick-up

Once the cake leaves the shop, we have no responsibility for what happens to the cake since we do not know what happens afterward. 

Again, all sales are final once you step out with the cake.  

 

We are happy to advise all our customers as to the best way to transport their cakes should they ask for them, but it is the customer’s responsibility to exercise extreme care when moving and transporting their sensitive cake.
 

Custom Cakes:  Full Refund/Store Credit will not be honored for design disputes.


Partial Store Credit on decorating, design, style:  If you are unhappy with any of the design factors upon pickup, we may be able to make adjustments subject to our discretion and the design of the original product before leaving the shop.  If the decoration is at wrong, after investigating, the customer can request store credit on wrong decoration portion only.

 

No Store Credit/Refund on cake tint/shade/tones:  We do not color match cake to "exact color" requested during the initial consultation.  We will try our best to match the color to "color swatch" provided. This is because of print and digital viewing of color may look different per human eye. Due to environment, time, refrigeration involved with cakes with food colors, food colors may get slightly darker as the time passes by in the cooler.  Please be mindful of this fact.  With this said, Refunds requested due to tint/shade/tone of color will not be honored.

Partial Store Credit requested due to wrong cake flavor, filling:  Will only be determined at the discretion of our investigation, the customer can request refund/credit on wrong amount of cake portion minus the decoration labor time/material cost.

If, by any means, after discussing, the customer still wants a full refund, we'll consider the order fully cancelled without the cake provided.  This will be done with manager approval only.

We hope you are completely satisfied with everything you purchase from Delicious Cakes. However, we understand things change. Due to the nature of our products, there are some restrictions regarding refunds and cancellations. All cancellations are subject to the owner’s discretion.

Wedding /Daily Order Contract policy:

All contract becomes valid once a deposit is made.  

Deposit: Your non-refundable deposit is due to hold your wedding date.  If you cancel your wedding, your deposit will not be refunded.  If your wedding date changes, we will move your date only if space is available.

Refunds on Cancellations: If the contract is cancelled prior to 30 days of the booked delivery date, you will be refunded deposit amount.  If the contract is cancelled within 30 days of the booked delivery date, there will not be any refund paid.

All contract is not transferable for use for another person, nor can it be transferred for use of store credit.

 

Changes:  Changes for wedding cake can be made in your design up to 30 days prior to the booked delivery date.  No changes will be made after that time.  For all daily cakes, once the cake is made - the change request will not be honored.

 

Bride supplied items : All bride supplied items such as ribbons, color swatches, ornamental decorations, flowers, etc must be received by the store 30 days prior to the booked delivery date.  Items received after this time may or may not be added to your cake.

 

Information collected: The information on the contract, including phone number and email address maybe used to send out promotional coupons & marketing information​

How much advance notice do you need to accommodate an order?

  • We ask for minimum of 1 week advanced notice for custom cake orders to be safe. If an order is more intricate, including sculpting work/design, fondant, or faux tiers & ordering supplies - may need more than 1 week.

  • we can only do so many specialty cakes in a weekend and our demand is very high so the sooner you can get your order in the better prepared we can be to fulfill your order.

  • A 6 month lead time for wedding cake tasting should be sufficient with the exceptions of mid-May through mid-July and mid-September through mid-November. These are peak wedding times in the Dallas area and an 8 or 9-month lead time is recommended.

Last Minute Order/Pick up

  • We always have fresh 6" & 9" cakes available that could serve 12 up to 30 people depending on slicing- in our cases at all time!  We can write a message on the cake in any basic color you like.​​

  • Other items available are Cupcakes, Petit fours, Cake balls & Cake pops, Bundt Cakes, and Big Alotta Chocolate Chip Cookies that are extra chewy and crispy outside.

How much are your cakes?

  • All of our wedding cakes and special occasion cakes are priced individually by their serving amount and the complexity of their design.  You can always order on the phone or walk in to pick up our fresh, delicious cakes which rotate seasonally. 

  • Our 6-inch round cakes are priced from $37 (custom cake may be more) - serving up to 8 people per cake

  • Our 9-inch round cakes are priced from $62 (custom cake may be more) -  serving up to 20 people per cake, depending on how it is cut and served.  Please view our cutting and serving size.

Can I place an order via email?

  • We are more than happy to answer any questions and review design photos via email, however, if you need specific colors for the cake design, we recommend you visit our shop to talk to our consultants about all the details and pick the color from our color chart.

What is your wedding cake payment policy?

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve any order. 

  • The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the event date for wedding orders or on the pick-up day.  Payments can be made by cash, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), Zelle, and Check.

Do you deliver or ship your cakes?

  • Delivery is available for custom & wedding cakes, cakes that require on-site assembly, and corporate accounts. Deliveries are usually restricted to the DFW metroplex area, 0 - 45 miles from the shop. Extended distances may be arranged on a case-by-case basis and will be priced higher for accommodation.  

  • We do not ship our cakes except for our bundt cakes.  

  • Bundt cakes, however, can be shipped to all states except Hawaii and Alaska.

How can I schedule a cake tasting?

  • For wedding cake tasting, please visit our weddings link from www.deliciouscakes.com to book an appointment or find a button that says "Book a Tasting".

  • The tasting box is also available for pickup/takeout.  Simply choose from 6pcs, 10pcs, 14pcs packages you'd like to try during ordering via www.deliciouscakes.com/weddings and book a tasting.
