Frequently Asked Questions

Our products are made lovingly by our team. We use fresh, quality ingredients to ensure that all of our products are delicious. Each product is made individually in order to ensure its quality. 

All products may use or have come into contact with peanuts, tree nuts, soybean derivatives, eggs, wheat gluten, milk, and other allergens. We will endeavor to meet your dietary requirements, so please be explicit about these when placing your order.

All orders for both pickup and delivery are to be paid in advance 50% or in full within 3 days of completion time when your order is placed.

Our organized team works hard to prepare your order. Some ingredients are ordered or created in advance. We are a busy store and orders and processed on a first-in, first-served basis. Therefore, if you cancel, your order has taken up time that could have otherwise been given to another customer, so we lose both orders.

If your cake is a custom cake, often there are also special designs, inscriptions, or other decorative elements that would mean we could not place your order in our store cabinet for re-sale.

Once picked up, customers accept all responsibility for transporting any product to their location. We will not give refunds if there is a mishap during transit. We are happy to advise all our customers as to the best way to transport their cakes should they ask for them, but it is the customer’s responsibility to exercise extreme care when moving and transporting their cake.

Refunds requested due to decorating style, color shade, or general decoration design afterward, will not be accepted. If you are unhappy with any of the design factors upon pickup, we may be able to make adjustments subject to our discretion and the design of the original product.

Refunds requested due to quality or flavor will only be determined at the discretion of our staff, and based upon the returned cake. We are unable to provide a refund on a cake that has been consumed.

We only give refunds in accordance with the refund policies stated above and within 48 hours. All refunds are given as store credit—no cash refunds.

We hope you are completely satisfied with everything you purchase from Delicious Cakes. However, we understand things change. Due to the nature of our products, there are some restrictions regarding refunds and cancellations. All cancellations are subject to the owner’s discretion.

  • No refund to the customer is made if a wedding cake order is canceled within 30 days of the event date.

  • or within 48 hours of the Custom Cake order pick-up day.

How much advance notice do you need to accommodate an order?

  • We ask for a minimum of 4 days advance notice for any custom cake orders. If an order is more intricate, including sculpting work, fondant, or faux tiers, we encourage a minimum of 1 week's notice.

  • we can only do so many specialty cakes in a weekend and our demand is very high so the sooner you can get your order in the better prepared we can be to fulfill your order.

  • A 4-6 month lead time for wedding cakes should be sufficient with the exceptions of mid-May through mid-July and mid-September through mid-November. These are peak wedding times in the Dallas area and an 8 or 9-month lead time is recommended.

Last Minute Order/Pick up

  • We always have fresh 9" cakes available that could serve 12-15 people in our case!  We can write a message on the cake in any basic color you like.

  • Other items available are Cupcakes, Petit fours, Cake balls & Cake pops, Bundt Cakes, and Cookies.

How much are your cakes?

  • All of our wedding cakes and special occasion cakes are priced individually by their serving amount and the complexity of their design.  You can always order on the phone or walk in to pick up our fresh, delicious cakes which rotate seasonally. 

  • Our 9-inch cakes are priced at $55 and up serving 12 - 15 people per cake.

Can I place an order via email?

  • We are more than happy to answer any questions and review design photos via email, however, if you need specific colors for the cake design, we recommend you visit our shop to talk to our consultants about all the details and pick the color from our color chart.

What is your payment policy?

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve any order. 

  • The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the event date for wedding orders or on the pick-up day of all custom cake orders. Payments can be made by cash, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express).  

Do you deliver or ship your cakes?

  • Delivery is available for wedding cakes, cakes that require on-site assembly, and corporate accounts. Deliveries are usually restricted to the DFW metroplex area. Extended distances may be arranged on case-by-case circumstances.  

  • We do not ship our custom cakes.  Pickups only.

  • Bundt cakes, however, can be shipped to all states except Hawaii, and Alaska.

How can I schedule a cake tasting?

  • For wedding cake tasting, please visit our weddings page to book an appointment.

  • The tasting box is also available for pickup.  Simply choose 6 cake flavors you'd like to try during ordering via and book a tasting.
